Grand Forks Insulation was founded in 2024 by people who grew up in this region and know what North Dakota winters actually feel like. We started this company because we kept hearing the same story from neighbors and friends - high heating bills, cold drafts, ice dams every winter - and too many contractors who either did not show up or did not do the job right.
Grand Forks is a real community. The University of North Dakota, Grand Forks Air Force Base, and Altru Health System bring thousands of long-term residents to the area - people who buy homes and invest in them. A lot of those homes are older, built before modern energy codes, and sitting in one of the coldest climate zones in the country. We built this company specifically to serve those homeowners.
We know the housing stock here. We know the older neighborhoods near downtown, the homes rebuilt after the 1997 Red River flood, and the newer subdivisions growing on the south and west sides of the city. That local knowledge is what we bring to every job - and it makes a real difference in the quality of work you get.
When you call us, a real person answers. When we give you a start date, we show up on that date. No disappearing acts, no vague timelines - just clear communication from the first call to the final walkthrough.
We tell you what your home actually needs, not the most expensive option. If your attic just needs a top-up, we say that. You get a written estimate before anything starts so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Grand Forks winters are nothing like the rest of the country. We know the local housing stock, the frost depths, the ice dam problems, and the moisture issues that come with spring snowmelt - and we work accordingly.
We clear the work area before we leave, respond within 1 business day, and explain everything we find before we touch anything. Your home is treated with care - every single job.
North Dakota State Contractor License - required to legally perform insulation and building envelope work in ND.
Full general liability insurance on every project, protecting your property and our crew from the first day on site.
Surety bond in place so you have financial protection if work does not meet the agreed scope or standard.
North Dakota General Contractor License - Issued by the North Dakota Secretary of State. Required for any insulation, building envelope, or weatherization work performed in the state. Applicants must pass a licensing exam and carry active insurance before the license is issued.
You can verify any North Dakota contractor license at the North Dakota Secretary of State website. Ask us for our license number before work begins - a legitimate contractor will hand it over without hesitation.
